Never tell people you are a trader. There are only three possible outcomes:
1) They assume you are unemployed, doesn't matter where you work. 2) They have no comprehension of what that means. 3) They ask you for market advice.
This a lose-lose situation. As with all facets of life I have found a way out of this predicament. Next time someone asks just say:
"I own a bunch of sweatshops in the Philippines... you should see those kids make those hats."
