Tuck IB Career Switch

Hi everyone,

I'm an international (latam) with 3 YoE in Healthcare Management Consulting and I'm aiming to make a career switch to Investment Banking through an MBA at Tuck. I don't have finance experience, and as an international I believe that we can only aim for BB (because MM are hareder to get Visas), so I would like to know how feasible do you think it is.

I'm aware that in the employment reports Tuck has a good placement in IB, but you never get to know how many aimed to get those jobs and failed to do so.

Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks!

Would focus on HC groups at the bulge bracket banks given background/visa needs. The visa is definitely a roadblock, but its not insurmountable if you are an otherwise good candidate. Sadly, it probably depends on your personality/fit but I would think you would have a pretty high shot of landing a role assuming you follow all the steps and are a reasonably cool guy/gal.

Yes, I would aim for HC or Latam group, but good to know that there are good shots for someone with my profile through a Tuck MBA. I think of myself as very sociable and good with people, so I believe that it would help a lot. I hope that the visa isn't such a big deal for BB, given that with the STEM I'll have 3 year until they would have to sponsor it, but I'm eager to follow the steps with the IB Club/Recruiting. Thanks for the insight!

Would just like to add that MBB sponsors H1B. Tuck is heavy consulting, so it is worth a look!!
