ass2007do you think the banks wants somebody who could end up high every once in a while instead of working their tails off... or when the md calls you and you just start laughing mad? it's a risk dude!

Are you Aleksey Vayner ?

My British friends told me they don't know anyone who's been drug tested here.

I had the same issue and I was honest on the medical form.

ass2007 has done more stupid shit than you have seen cumulatively on the movies...still, does not change the validity of the opinion. sorry mate, i've seen too many friends go down the drug path and some have not and some will not come back. big difference with drinking.

I've never used an illegal drug, and never will. But I still know that it's unrealistic to expect that a 21-year-old would not have smoked marijuana once in the past three years. After all, college is supposedly where you experiment, even though I didn't.

That said, be CLEAN when you take your drug test. Most of my friends who occasionally light up went for months without using anything or being around it before the test. I believe three months is a decent period for marijuana (which is unfortunately one of the longest-lasting drugs in the world). If you can't stay off pot for three months, there's a problem anyway.

I'm in the US here; not sure if things are different over there.

For real..it would be nice to enjoy a week in South Beach or similar debaucherous destination before starting in July....anyone actually know/been through it?

for banking in London is the same at US banks and CS,DB,UBS. Urine test at contracted agency within first couple of days of start date.

Don't know about RBS,Barcap ABN or others,

Much appreciated; out of your curiosity, are you assuming bc these companies have offices in US and so it seems logical? I was asked to give pre-employment medical and even went so far as to call the medicentre and inquire, and they laughed at me. I hope you are right, and its not like I won't pass as it currently stands, just when those exams wrap...

Based in London, not a BB, but if you check the recent prestige posts, my bank figures quite well in there, you should catch on...(sorry, just not the right thread to be name dropping)...why, you UK too?

Agreed. No name dropping wanted.

Just thought you might be coming over from the states to work here when you mentioned South Beach.

Grew up in Montreal and came out here for university, and will be starting in July. Just those seven weeks btw exams and work may be spent being filthy in the sun in MIA..no better place!

You British, workin in the city?

Should be gettin off to bed now...

at our firm (American based BB) is that the first day of new hires is spent mostly with HR. HR will arrange a time for the drug test to be taken. Most likely it is the next day, the place is a few blocks away--takes 10 minutes to pee in cup--HR is notified of results about 3-5 days later.

Backgroung check package is put together--can take a 2-3 weeks and given to your MD and staffer.

Never heard of a hair test being done. Most other banks work the same way--

Don't know what yours will be like, but assume similar.
