UK student applicant

Hi there,

I'm new on WSO and this is my first post. My name is Raphael and I'm a French/American student at Imperial College London, studying math, currently in my penultimate year, applying for Summer Analyst Internships.

The reason why I'm posting today is because I have three questions.
First of all, is it common for students from the UK to make it in Wall Street? Or like does it exist at all? I ask that because I have applied to New York offices rather than London offices, just because I'd rather work in the US. I have American citizenship so that wouldn't be a problem.

My second question is when do we usually first hear back from Summer Analyst Internship applications? My friends here applying to banking in London are already getting some phone interviews, and I haven't heard anything back from anyone. I know we're not even past the deadline yet, but I'm still wondering.

And finally, how does the interview process work for International people? Would I have to fly in to New York City for interviews? Or would it just be phone interviews/Skype interviews at their London office.

If you have any other advice for my profile, please go ahead, I'm open to everything.
