Unique Experienced Hire Recruiting Situation
Looking for advice on this unique recruiting situation...
I am an experienced hire. I was approached directly by a firm's internal HR and recruiting about a position, position x, in a different city, city a, from where I currently work. When I talked to the internal recruiter, I mentioned I was open to relocation for the right opportunity but would prefer to stay in my current city. This is type of opportunity that would merit relocation.
A couple of days later I was approached by a headhunter recruiting for position y in city b, which is in my current city, with the same firm.
Both positions are extremely similiar and within the same space. Firm is tops in the space.
How would you handle it?
What are the 2 cities?
How important is it to you personally that you remain in your current city?
I'm a little confused by your description, so both positions are with the same firm but in different offices is that correct?
Same firm but different cities. The first opportunity came directly from the firm's internal recruiter and the second from a headhunter.
Should I mention to the firm's internal recruiter that I was approached by the headhunter for a similar role in my current city?
So you're afraid to mention the cities...
I wouldn't give either recruiter any extra information. If you'd prefer either position over your current one, then I would just interview for each and see if you land offers.
Thanks.
I guess the concern is the process going through the same people at higher levels.
