Upset about my situation. Time for new job?

I joined a trading firm as a software developer a year and a half ago. I was given an exceptional performance review just before I heard the new number today. It was extremely disappointing. I mean it so much lower than what I was expecting (a little over 4%). I know I'm being way underpaid for my type of job too so it just made me that much more upset. I don't understand it. They gave me a 20% bonus last year. I guess they only pay in bonuses.

They told me it was standard for everyone to get 3-5% raises a year. Are you serious? At a place like this? This is basically a Wall Street firm. They are doing well and they even told me that. I just can't work here anymore now that I heard this crap number. I don't think I'll even notice a bigger paycheck. I'd have to think that these places pay a lot more than that to people each year. I'm basically getting the same raises that I got when I wasn't in a trading firm at all. It's not like I'm asking to get paid millions. Just get paid for doing my job well. That's all. Only looking for serious posts. I'll just ignore the rest. Anyway, thanks for listening to my ranting.

Yes, time to look for a new job. Get a few trusted friends to help you reposition your career. It sounds like you have some very valuable skills that, if positioned properly, could get you tons more cash for a similar role.
