US a student applying for international opportunities
Can anyone please share their experience with applying for international opportunities with banks as a US student? In terms of working around acquiring Visas, etc... And also through their “campus opportunities” or Campus Recruiting site.
I had an MD at BAML in Sydney explain it to me that a firm in a certain location will want to select students/hires in that country/region because, if they want to bring in talent from other countries, they have to explain to the local government why their outside applicant is better than their local ones, which is part of the headache with dealing with international hires.
Would love to hear any feedback with this and their own experiences. Thanks!
