US IB Off-Cycle Intern Recruiting Info Needed

Just wondering if anyone has any information on how off-cycle recruiting works in the US. For context, I'm from Canada where the Big 6 banks usually have fall & winter programs given some schools have work co-op terms but wondering if US banks have anything of the same structure/extremely ad-hoc/or if off-cycle recruiting doesn't even exist.

Would appreciate any color possible thanks.
