The most important part of an internship is doing the random stuff and talking to guys in the office. Everything they actually need you to do is just a bunch of bullshit (e.g. entering data into a database, getting coffee, getting lunch). If you do an online finance internship you'll get nothing out of it. ...Unless the name is impressive.
On the other hand... I can send you some of my bullshit for you to do virtually and we can call it an internship if you want.

I think it'll be awesome for your resume as a high school student. For a serious junior year sa, probably not.
most likely you will get involve in no analytic/evaluation/modeling but calling for information nonstop, but for high school senior its legit
It's worth it because you are a high school student, but I wouldn't expect to learn a lot. I got roped into doing a virtual internship with some kid in a top 3 MBA program and it was useless. I got nothing out of it and I doubt he got much if anything either.
Looks like I'll give this a shot then. Since it's virtual, I can always take on another (real-life) internship locally. Plus, this would be a good thing for applying for undergrad biz school (I have to apply my sophomore year to get into my college's undergrad business program) right?

You don't have to disclose that it was virtual so if it's your only option I would do it. As long as you get good experience.
