UK Visa refused?

Hi,

I'm from continental Europe and I landed a summer analyst gig at a MM bank in London. I've just applied for my visa (Tier 5 visa) and obviously, the bank sponsors me. My problem is that I've been refused a visa in order to intern in an Asian country a few years ago. I didn't get the visa as I didn't meet all the requirements for this type of visa. I kinda forgot about it and thought it wasn't a big deal. While filing in my visa application on the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) platform, I was asked to mention whether I've ever been refused a visa (UK or elsewhere). I mentioned this issue on my application, as I know I must be completely transparent.

Can this issue hinder my UK Tier 5 visa application? Or am I overstressing?

Thanks for your answer.

Yes, I saw this article but, unfortunately, my uni isn't part of the list, though it's considered the best in my home country (aka France, Germany, Italy)...

I wouldn't think it should impact your chances unless the reason for the refusal was something grave (e.g., some criminal offence or other). If it is just a matter of you not meeting all the criteria at the time, I doubt it will bear much weight, if any.

I am in a similar situation at the moment, waiting on my Skilled Worker visa (also a continental European waiting to go to the UK for MBB FT). It is annoying to wait, but if you currently satisfy all the eligibility requirements (and not having criminal records or anything like that), my money would be on you being safe.

Thanks for your reply. You're probably right and I'm just overstressing. This visa is just the last step between me and a job I worked so hard to get...

Good luck with your FT role!
