What are my chances - Going to second stage?

Hi everyone!

had a telephone interview on monday, i thought it went very well with both interviewers. the hiring manager said i have an interesting background and at the end of the interview said that i have the motivation and mindset to work at the organisation...the hiring manager told me she will be in NY week starting 13th and will have final round then, the job is based in NY but she is based in london...following the interview i send thank you notes to both interviewers and they both responded saying it was nice speaking to me and they will be in touch...this morning i emailed hr checking if they have any updates and she responded soon after saying that they still have a few more 1st round interviews and once these are over they will make a decision on who will proceed to the final stage!

is this the norm, what do you think are my chances given this?

just to add some more detailed. This is a large investment bank, got referred by a friend who told me they have hiring freeze unless it is an important post. While i was speaking to the hiring manager she told me it is a replacement for someone who has quit recently and they are looking to expand the by adding two more members. before the interview started she said iam the first one to be interviewed and she has more scheduled. she said she finds my background very interested as i have done a similar role before. The interviews went over the allocated time and i asked questions in the end which she really liked and at the end she asked me to email her if i have any more.

the hr response said she has finished 1st round interviews and they would decide next week who goes through to the next stage.

thanks again

thanks

I had the same experience, the interviewer asked me when can I start, I said next week, he said great, HR can finish the relocation paper work within this period. But I didn't get the job.

This means they like you, but they need to see if another candidate fits the job more. So no matter how the result is, you did the best you can. Good luck!

Fighting!

To answer your question, i'd venture to say anywhere between 0-100% based off the wealth of background you've provided.

I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass... and I'm all out of bubblegum.
