what are some good questions to ask when you're networking?
like say you were able to get an alumni or someone from the industry to come chat with you over coffee or get a informational phone call, what are some good questions to usually ask them during the meeting/phone call
Ask them about their work, experience working at the firm, what got them to go on that career path, more specific questions about their work (eg. if you're talking to someone covering tech sector at a fund then how do they source investment ideas, important steps in valuations, how did a certain event affect their work, etc.) - these are some questions I have asked
Making it flow like a conversation by following up to what they say instead of asking questions like a robot is what most people advised me to do
thank you for the advice. would you happen to know where I can read about some of these concepts like sourcing investment ideas? so I can ask the question and have some idea of what im saying, im a rising sophomore in college and its my first time hearing that
Not sure to be honest. I would just search on this site for some suggested readings or maybe search for some info about investing on google
