I'm in my final year of university and I'm applying for summers, if I don't land anything then I'll be finishing university with no internship or grad scheme lined up. I'm kinda worried about not hearing back from any of my applications, so what would I do if I can't line anything up, at least through the official routes? Any advice?

Keep applying to every IB shop you find. Don't just go for the top 20 BBs/EBs. Apply for MM boutiques as well, some of them open a bit late: for instance, William Blair just opened their internship process.You can always lateral in the future to a top BB/EB provided you are good at your job
Go to all the networking events you can. During these events, have your elevator pitch ready and polished and talk to the HR guys. If you impress them/they like you, they might give you their email addresses so you can send your CV directly to them and you get a first round. Has worked for me twice out of 20+ networking events
Prioritise the application season over leisure activities. You can party later, spend your weekends polishing your CV/CL, completing tests, preparing for HVs, networking until you get something

Hi, as far as I know, yes you can! Some banks are very happy to take final years, Citi for example! :)
Other banks are iffy and want you to have a Masters lined up (or you can just tell them you have a Masters lined up and then say "Oops, changed my mind!")
Yea i'm doing the whole, 'imma do a masters oh wait nvm' coz I'm in final year, which is why I'm panicking about not being able to get an internship this year coz it's my last chance.
