What do you think the job market is going to look like?

Seeing all the layoffs + offers being rescinded from tech companies, I am dealing with my own dilemma. I am currently in a west coast office for my bank and want to relocate to one of the east coast offices (NYC/Charlotte/DC etc.). However, I am a bit unsure about raising this with my manager as I do not want to burn any bridges/make myself look bad/be in a position where I start getting iced out as they know that I want to leave. This is largely out of homesickness as I want to be back on the east coast again.
