What is the difference between FP&A and strategic finance?
A lot of FP&A roles I see, the job description mentions ad hoc project financial modeling in addition to quaterly FP&A reporting duties. Are these a combo of strategic finance and FP&A

some FP&A roles are much more reporting focused whilst others can be more strategic. make sure you sit in the group function. no way you're doing anything strategic in a business unit. ive spent my time in consulting & strategic FP&A and love it. my whole job is basically 3 statement /scenario modeling 75-90% of the time along with corporate finance, investment analysis, business cases etc.
what does sitting in a "group function" mean?
