What is the rationale behind networking with people at large firms?
When I apply online, some hiring manager at the office that I apply to will look at the application. Then, when does networking come in? So if I know this person in the office that I apply to, this associate/analyst, etc will unsolicitedly go up to the hiring manager, and say “Hey, look at the application of this guy I know. He might not have 2 years of experience but I know he’s pretty good”, and then boom, you get an interview?
