What Should I Do Next?

Hello all,

I am seeking some advice on my next steps (Non-Diversity).

Background: Absolute non-target west coast private school (Pepperdine/Loyola Marymount/Chapman/Santa Clara) studying finance, going into my starting my second semester of sophomore year in the fall. Late last year, I got very lucky and was offered a 2023 internship at a tiny boutique (<20 employees) that focuses on ECM. I don't exactly see a future there and don't expect a return offer. It is more of a favor through a friend of a connection sort of thing.

Ideally, I want to go to New York. Don't care about EB vs. BB vs. MM, I'll take what I can get.

Anyway, since I am at a non-target, what advice do you all have to prepare for recruiting next spring? Should I buy a prep course? There are only a few people I see on LinkedIn in IB, so I will start by reaching out to them.

How should I go about reaching out to people I have no connection with whatsoever?

Thank you all. I appreciate any advice you may have! PM's open.
