What should I do next? (internship/Job Search)

I'm currently a sophomore Econ Major 2 years away from graduating from an East Coast LAC non-target. I don't have any finance specific experience, but I'd like to work in that general field after I graduate. I have a 3.6GPA and a 3.7 Major GPA. Captain of a sports team and I'm involved in a couple other clubs.

I don't have much knowledge about what the different sectors of work are. From what I've heard IB is hard to break into without a stellar GPA or connections and everything I've heard about consulting work sounds appealing to me.

I was hoping for some suggestions on where I should look for internships and what job options I might have.
