A company recently sent me a pre-offer communication document after a verbal offer on the phone which basically detailed the job details (salary, team, location, etc) should an offer be extended as well as agreeing to a background check before a official job offer letter can be extended.
What is a pre-offer document and what's the purpose of it? Is it essentially an official job offer letter?
