When in Rome
Hey monkey’s I’ve put in 200 plus applications over the last 2 months and over 500 over the last 6 months to multiple firms including RIA firms and small mom and pop shops. I can’t seem to land a gig, so I’ve decided to try and start my own RIA and build experience through building a business. From the people I’ve been talking to I can start a firm for a little over $10,000. $20,000 gets your started fairly comfortably and you have multiple years of SAAS subscriptions and memberships, plus you can hire a 3rd party consultant to help you with ADV 1/2 filing and completion (hardest part). The series 65 is only $187 and the Kaplan study program was fine. Has anyone tried building their own firm? How did it go? Thanks for your time We
If you couldn’t get hired who are you going to raise money from? LP chats are akin to interviews but they are evaluating you and your firm. Track record is important.
