When someone asks for my availability and I am unemployed with 100% availability, how do I respond?
I am embarrassed and disheartened that this is my first WSO post ever, but here we are. As the post states, I am currently trying to secure a FT offer following my graduation this past month and have been struggling with how to respond to recruiters for calls and HR for interviews when they ask this. I don't want them to know that I literally have nothing on my schedule besides one-off informational calls that randomly trickle in, but then again I don't want to make up arbitrary time slots for the sake of sounding like I am busy.
Maybe its not that big of a deal to say "I am free all day Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday...," but in my own head it sounds really unhelpful. Would appreciate any thoughts or advice!
Just send them blocks of time you're free at (i.e. M-F 2PM to 6PM) and state that you are flexible. I highly doubt they're going to read into your schedule, and there's no shame in working hard to get a job. Good luck!
