Which to pick for internship?
Which to pick for internship? Any and all advice appreciated.
OPTION 1: Multi-strategy fund with 1 Bn+ total AUM
(This role involves screening prospective investments, due diligence etc. Not sure if this is classified as ops, can someone help me out here?)
OPTION 2: Reputable MM firm
(This role primarily involves updating the value of various portfolio positions in their database. Other miscellaneous work also.)
Thanks.
Without knowing where you want to end up its a difficult choice. Are you trying to get into IB, S&T, etc. They work at both of them does not seem very in depth, so I would pick the one that would best position you to your end goal.
Hi, I'm looking to do S&T and hopefully quant HFs later on.
It's an interesting choice because the work at option #1 (the HF) seems more like IBD type work, while option #2 (the MM) seems loosely related to portfolio/investment management.
Any other thoughts?
