Anything suitable for a bcomm with 1 year of BA experience. consulting, ib, asset management. Just looking for something new and its hard to find stuff that isnt either an intern position (I've applied to several and they reject if you arent currently a student) or requires 5+ years of exp
Currently quite bleak from what I can tell. As you’ve pointed out, there are multiple internships open but unless you’ve already interned at a place and have some connections it’s quite hard to get something. LinkedIn jobs always has the odd posting but everyone is applying through that (there’s a fidelity analyst posting that came out today with about 50 applicants already). Would recommend using this economic downturn period to just build connections so when things open back up again you have a better shot.
I sincerely hope you’re networking and grabbing coffee chats, etc. with people in the industry to determine which banks are hiring. If you have not begun doing so, get cracking. From what I know, only CIBC has been posting job positions publicly.
As has been repeated many times here, Canada IB is super network driven. You need to be reaching out and doing your own due diligence
