Why can’t I get interviews?
Hi everyone,
This post is not for whining and crying, I just want tips on what I can do to improve my profile and hopefully get interviews.
I applied for over 80 summer internships in the UK and Europe and did not get a single interview. I did most assessments quite well and my CV is market standard, so I know that’s not it. I’m trying to understand what I can improve in my profile to hopefully get some interviews for off-cycles/next SA.
That being said, here’s a quick overview of my profile:
- I’m a girl (apparently that counts for something)
- Attend a semi-target European B-School (think ESCP/IE/Bocconi)
- Have previous experience in M&A, did M&A on my summer internship 2nd year.
- Participated in a BB Spring Week (think JPM/MS/GS)
- Have a great GPA (9/10)
One thing I know I didn’t do much was networking.
What can I do better next time?
Networking is arguably the most important factor.
