Why Lehman? Aside from all the cliched stuff

Hey guys,

I'm going to be interviewing for Lehman IBD next week and I'm preparing my answer for the question: Why Lehman?

Over the past 3 weeks, I've attended well over 10 firm presentations and the qualities that attracts people to each firm is the exact same.

I'll summarize:

-Reputation -Quality of their people -Teamwork -Mentorship program -Job mobility/happiness -Making sure you succeed -Challenge you -Help you learn

Aside from the cliched stuff every firm spits out at presentations, what distinguishes Lehman from its competitors? Can anyone comment on this, especially anyone who works at the firm?

Thanks.

if you can't tell things like this from the presentations, i feel like you aren't paying enough attention or looking for the right things.

do you want an mba? do you know if leh values one? are you in banking for the 2 year analyst gig or do you really want to be there long term? what are your career goals - are they in line with lehmans? how does lehman value an employee - - how do there employees give back? do you know about their first on wall street program?

seriously, if you're smart enough to get the interview, you've got to have SOMETHING that you're looking for. in the end you pick the firm as much as they choose you.
