Will I be out of line?

A little bit of background:
I graduated this summer with a relevant postgraduate degree from a top target school in Europe. I decided to take some time off after graduation for personal reasons but I am starting to look for a job now.
Since graduation I have done some private 1-on-1 GMAT tutoring for a local test preparation company. I just found out that one of my students works for a top firm in an industry I am interested in. (It's actually kind of weird because I am tutoring him and he is older than me). Anyway... will I be out of line if I ask him for help/advice/recommendation/etc with applications and finding a job in general? Of course I will only do this after I stop being his tutor.
