Working in South Africa as a Foreigner / Asset Management

Title says it all. I have heard that it is incredibly difficult to break into finance in SA as a foreigner. Has anyone on here done it? South African's please also throw in your .02. I very much want to live / work in SA. Joburg / Cape Town.

Some context:

I am American. I am male. I am white.
I currently am living in Africa (not SA) doing an alternative volunteer thing.
I am in my early 20's / went to a semi-target / ok GPA / finance undergrad / 8 months formal work experience after graduation
I had a student Visa a few years ago. Did a semester at top SA university
For all intents and purposes lets assume I am a CFA level II candidate
