worth it to apply to BX with bad gpa but vp referral
so i have a 3.2 gpa because of some personal stuff that arose during school but still want to aim high and apply for the 2025 finance blackstone. I have a VP referral from blackstone but they don’t know my gpa and i’m worried that once they refer me it’ll ruin a relationship, Is it even worth it to apply to blackstone now with such a low gpa or should I apply next year. I also plan to write a CV but unsure if i should cite bad gpa bc of health reasons. Would appreciate any advice!!
why don't you just communicate this to the VP upfront - if he doesn't refer you, that just means (he knows) with this GPA you wouldn't get an interview anyway, and since you communicated upfront there will be no acrimony between you.
no they offered to refer me once i apply, but with such a low gpa im wondering does the referral even help or will HR ask why did you refer this person they have such a low gpa
if they said that then just apply. if you don't hear back, then you know.
