would you take a role that is only for 2-3 years?

If it's a role that only lasts 2-3 years and they kick you out, would you still be interested in that?

what happens if you can't find a job to transition to or can't get into grad school?

I tend to be a risk adverse person and knowing it's just a short term length sucks

happypantsmcgeeyes, its actually extremely common

let me also mention this won't be my first job out of college... and I'm not even sure if I want to go back to grad school

however the work experience would be better than what I am doing now

ThaVanBurenBoyzPretty much all pre-MBA jobs of interest on WSO are 2-3 years, then out. That's what we've all signed up for.
Much better written than mine but the point I was trying to make nonetheless.

You could give us some more info... (ie- what type of work you do now, what type of work you could be doing at this new job, how many years you've been working, etc)

However, if you're going to get better work experience at this other shop, it's probably going to be a better option for when you want to apply to b-school or if you want to advance your career.
