Wrong Location

Already had a preliminary interview, which I passed, they had me fill out an applicant profile. I put my location preference as place X. Then Y and Z. I was indifferent between Y and Z, but when I interviewed it was for location Z, but now it seems like they will consider me for anywhere, I meant to put location Z as 2nd, but made a mistake and now I can't change it on the form as it's already submitted.

Should I write the recruiter an email signaling that I would really like Z as my #2, or should I just let it go and come up with a reason for why Z is now 3 and Y is now 2.

Essentially is it worth it to tell the HR person I made a mistake in filling out the form, or come up with a reason for why I changed my mind (even though I didn't actually)?

I’m standing on the edge of some crazy cliff. What I have to do, I have to catch everybody if they start to go over the cliff—I mean if they’re running and they don’t look where they’re going I have to come out from somewhere and catch them.
