Year Off

I am a rising senior at H/Y/P. I am planning on taking a year or two off post undergrad to teach English in Italy and travel the world. Will I be able to apply for analyst positions when I return or will I be screwed? Planning to pursue real estate ib and real estate pe roles but was more so looking for general advice on how companies will view this gap. Cheers

Yes you’ll be able to apply for analyst positions but you will have a tough time competing against others with nothing but two years of glorified vacation on your resume. Once you’re out of school you’re not going to be applying for on cycle roles typically, you’ll be applying for off cycle which puts you up against people with work experience.

Would I not be able to apply to the regular full time analyst positions that drop in the summer? I have pretty good internship experience but I’m worried the gap in my resume will be a red flag
