You guys are so lame

There's so much bad information on this website. Don't take a sick day. Don't wear a suit that isn't exactly one of these colors. Focus on talking to MDs. Banking is life. BB rankings. You should transfer from your non-target because only targets are worth it. blah blah blah. Seriously you guys are a bunch of elitist pricks who know nothing about the real world. In actually finance, people aren't so petty. You try way too hard. This site is ridiculous.

one of these days we are going to read about an intern who was drowned in the office toilet by his fellow classmates, and we all know it's going to be you.

Ehh...this site's basically made up of a bunch of college (and some HS) kids who've never really worked in finance, but love to hand out advice. Then there's the folks like DFuld, EBraverman, BHat, IProgrammer...etc who've worked in the jungle, and hand out invaluable pieces of advice that one should definitely make note of.

I think- therefore I fuck

Gotta second this, because I was a college kid on this site (not posting advice, mostly seeking) before beginning to work. I got so much bs info, and the whole praise over the amount of hours you work per week is kind of pathetic. Life is more important than your job.

Lack of experience is the number one reason shit like that is popular. The older you get, the more you realize, you'll be 6 ft under in a very short amount of time, and nobody's gonna give a shit about how much of a baller excel monkey you were.

I think- therefore I fuck

I cringe a little when I read things like this. If someone followed my advice exactly, they'd be hammered everyday by 8 am.

Frankly Dick, I think you're rocking the boat by waking up that early, it doesn't quite mesh with the general IB culture. I also recommend a standing desk with lots of top tier mineral water to help with hangovers.

@northwest111" some of the lame advice is helpful to summer analysts and others who have never worked in the banking industry (looking the part, etc.). After all, Wall Street does have its elitist pricks.

Loved the thread last week where everyone was telling the guy not to get a standing desk because he would be rocking the boat too much as an analyst... just lol
