A Ricardian Introduction

Hi everyone! My name is David and I was born (to my misfortune) in Italy. I’m attending a non-target public university with one of the best International Finance program over here. I got into the matter thanks to one of my friends from California who gifted me “the intelligent investor” by B.Graham.

Now I’ve an entire collection of books ranging thought Economics, Investments valuation (Aswath Damodaran overall), and other interesting lectures (e.g. N.Taleb’s ones).

You may ask why now (I worked for 4 years in the chemicals industry before) and here, well, that was my optimal choice (recalling the budget constrain principle).

I started my journey with clear goals and an innate passion for the subject! I’m really enjoying my studies because they expose me to an international reality. Anyway, I felt that I needed to undertake a more tangible application of my knowledge and that’s been one of the driver which "indirectly" brought me here.

That’s not the first time that I bumped into WSO, but now that I feel more confident with the finance world and its mechanisms I decided to participate it as an active user.

In the future I imagine myself working for a finance institution in the IB, AM or PE fields. Moreover, after a week sifting through the NYSE I also discovered which my favorite sector is – banks!

What am I looking for from the WSO? A super community capable to help me improve my knowledge and an environment capable to launch me into the job industry with something that goes beyond the University studies.

Thank you all for reading my introduction!

David
