Advice is welcome

Hello everyone, new chimp here. After doing some soul searching and attending Kellogg to do my MBA (current student) I find myself wanting to make a career change, I have been working in Accounting and Finance for the past 12-14 years. Worked mostly in Corporate Companies and the back office of a small PE Fund/ Administrator. Sector is mostly in Real estate.

What's the best way to sell my background to the big firms such as Goldman, BlackRock, Blackstone, KKR, Bain, etc.. Looking to go into an M&A role as an associate or Analyst if it gets me there. Advice is greatly appreciated.

Curious to see what others have to say given your age and experience. Probably should be asking this kind of question to the faculty and alumni at kellogg.

Yeah I'd suggest you upgrade your linkedin so that you could just search for people who are at GS, BlackRock, etc. and also go to or went to kellogg and then ask them some questions on the inmail. Believe me, you are not behind the 8 ball so don't get discouraged. Kellogg is one of the best MBA programs in the country and especially if this is your first year there is still some time.
