Advice on preparing

Hi, I'm fairly new here, at least to posting on the forums. I've been a member and read articles very often and attend webinars whenever I can. I'm extremely interested in IB as most people are, along with the classic exit to PE. I'm a student-athlete sophomore going to be Junior at Boise State University (non target naturally), I play basketball there and sit on a board as well as CFO of the financial management association and President of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee. Not here to pat myself on the shoulder just trying to see where I sit with recruiting and what not.

I'm working a large boutique Wealth Management internship in Southern California this summer as well as preparing for next season. I'm doing a trip to SF to build relationships/network in the next coming weeks. Boise State does not have the best alumni that have pursued IB/PE/VC so I'm trying to network with everyone.

Want to hear if you guys have any advice on practicing the technical skills/everyday work in IB. Any websites, blogs, programs that you can work on skills that you will need.

Also how do I find e-mails (or contact information) for people within firms ( whether it be IB/PE/VC) to cold e-mail and try to make a connection with. Is there a database best suited of any sort. Or just search around the internet.
