At a crossroad for my career choice

In 4 days I will begin my final semester with only 2 classes left to finish up my B.S. in Biology. I have had the idea of going to medical school, but probably over the past 6 months I have grown bored with it. I have always hated the biology degree, but figured since I was probably going to medical school I should just stick with it. I have always had a liking for stocks and the market. I first began investing when I was in high school and using whatever money I could scrape up from little paychecks to buy stocks. I have began to rethink my career path and thinking that someday I would be interested in running a fund. I know it is competitive and cut throat, but I am use to this as this is the same attitude needed to get into medical school these days. I am going to be graduating with a 3.8 gpa in biology in April, but what are the steps that I would need to take to switch over and look at getting my MBA? I have been looking into the Harvard 2 + 2 program since they specifically target non business majors who are looking to chance. What about getting work experience or an internship? I feel that my biology degree could possibly help me in the biotech sector for research or something. Any help the forum could lend me would be great. Thanks!

I can't offer much personal advice because I don't have any experience. Instead I will recommend you read about Michael Burry. He's a famous, highly successful investor and fund manager who had always enjoyed investing throughout youth. Upon his father's request, he attended medical school and stayed even until the last semester, until he dropped out to pursue investing full time.

I'm sure he's very happy with his decision. Having said that, I will defer to others who have more informed views. Again, I don't suggest doing something as drastic as what he's done without a high level of conviction, but reading about him may encourage you to take the plunge if your heart is telling you to follow investing.

Best of luck.
