Back to front

After several weeks of obsessive perusal, it's time for my debut offering to the site.

I'm currently doing a 12 month internship at a BB in NYC, working in back office ops. It is a nice first foray into the corporate world, but the department (US treasury settlements) exemplifies the structural decline that is rife among a subset of IB's. Realistically, within a year or two, my group and others like it will all be offshored to India, or another such country.

I'd be interested to hear anyone's tales of making the move from back to front within IB, PE, AM or a HF.
