Better college connection?

I am deciding between two LaC's in the near future. I'm looking at IB and have tremendous assets at each school. At the first school, the coach i will play under is a successful portfolio manager with an impressive track record. On the other hand, a family friend is an alumni of school two and is a MD at GS. Which is a greater asset for a career in the finance industry, a mentor with trading experience or the connection to GS? Thanks for any help.

I mean, if you solely looking at in in terms of which decision would be more beneficial to you from a connections standpoint, You should go to the school with the coach, because, regardless of where you go the other guy will continue to be your family friend. Significantly, the MD at GS is a connection no matter what. Alternatively, the coach is only a connection if you play for him.

However, I don't really think that this is a good metric off of which to base your college decision. Go where you'll fit in better and where you'll enjoy more. If you're involved on campus in extra curricula's and clubs and shit, you're bound to find some connections with some alum anyway.
