Any time I’ve seen people say the role is different than expected, it’s never gone well. Also, if you tell your boss what is he/she going to do about it? Limited upside and much downside.

Thanks Jim. Totally see your point. My idea or motivation behind wanting to have the discussion is so it provides some context to my mood at work lately. I’ve had a hard time matching the enthusiasm of my team. I’ve done sales in the past and I truly hated it. So you can imagine my frustration when I get a job with no sales role and then surprise, I have to do sales.
