Expert advice...

Hello...Glad I found this site! I am new to this industry...I acquired assets from a VC from a deceased friend who was an expert in finance, accounting etc....I am now an LP of numerous funds, spv etc.  How should I go about making sure that I will be getting my proper asset returns? Where can I get up to speed with my knowledge of my holdings?  ie. course, books etc. Should I hire someone to assist in the process...like making sure the GP is following the term sheets? What would you do if you were in my shoes...I look forward to all the recommendations.  Thank you all in advance.  I'm blessed to have this financial prosperity, as well as know that I can't trust folks when it comes to assets...if you know what I mean. Thanks again.
