Hello Everyone - Background in software development

Hello everyone. My name is Dean and I have a background in software development (mostly scripting so far, but also some C, C++ and Java). Right now I am working at a startup developing software used by financial advisors.

However, it is my dream to work at a hedge fund. I am fascinated by foreign currency trading in particular, it being the biggest market in the world (or so I have heard). So right now I am beginning what I think will be a long but worthwhile journey of finding an entry level job in finance, ideally as a junior trader or a developer. I am in Connecticut and hope to look in the Fairfield and Stamford areas (Gold Coast) once I have beefed up my resume and gotten some certifications (if those are at all a good idea?). I will be asking questions along those lines in the coming weeks and months in the Job Seekers forum.

That's just a little bit about myself. I would now be happy to make your acquaintances and to answer questions if anyone has some.

Cheers!
