Hello from a Masshole

Hello I am an undergraduate pursuing a degree in Business Management(with a concentration in Finance) and Economics.

Some quick facts about me:
* Love golfing
*Was invited to speak at a National Honors Conference for an economics paper I wrote.
* Huge video gamer

My plan is to finish up my undergrad then immediately go get my Masters in Accounting and go work for a Big 4 firm in audit. Following a few years of that I hope to transition to advisory and then get an MBA or MSF. From there the dream is IB or PE.

Why am I here?
Well to but it bluntly to see if my plan is the direction I should go in. I am still new so I am looking at older threads to see what has been talked about and what questions I still have.

Also to seek out people who have gone through a path similar to mine and have a discussion about the difficulties they went through. I am a firm believer in the benefits a mentor can provide.

Its something I'm considering. I have an accounting internship over the summer so a lot of the plan hinges on me enjoying the experience. Accounting is also a less risky career, I have pretty good connections with a big 4 firm as opposed to a non-existent network of finance related people . I don't go to a top college either so I would imagine getting my foot in the door would be a challenge

Ah I see. We're in the same boat. The accounting internship, which I'm assuming is a summer one, is it during your sophomore summer or junior summer? If it's during your sophomore summer, you could try and leverage it to get a analyst position in finance during the next year.

I have a tender spot in my heart for cripples, bastards, and broken things

Spoiler alert; you won't.

"I don't know how to explain to you that you should care about other people."
