I will be a college freshman this fall

Hi. I will be attending the University of Arizona this fall as a finance major. I know that this is no where near the caliber as target schools and I read that I will have to maintain a high GPA and network a lot because of out low alumni pool. Maintaining a high GPA is not a problem, but I'm a first generation college student of an immigrant family so we have no connections whatsoever. As an introvert, how can I develop my network skills right now and what other things should I do?
