I'm not exactly a new user, but I still wanted to introduce myself. I'm am incoming freshman in Carnegie Mellon and I'm planning to double major in business and math. I've already discovered a lot by being on WSO and hope to continue learning from this great community. I will be starting at CMU this fall but will be in the MSCF program. Maybe we will run into each other!
How difficult is it to get into BS comp fi from a applied math major?
CMU BSCF student here.
You'll probably be taking a lot of similar classes as the track for compfi so it's easier for you than another major. When I asked Prof Shreve, he told me that it would be based one 3 factors - 1. grades 2. social interaction 3. interest in finance.
