Internship Timelines

Hey everyone,

I am a sophomore at what I believe to be a target undergraduate business program (Ross) and I am excited to get into the recruiting process.

I want to go into wealth management or investment banking. What are the timelines like for the summer 2015 internship process? I believe it will be difficult to get an investment banking internship after sophomore year. So what area's should I focus on? Should I go for finance internships?

In addition, I have a connection at a Chicago based private equity firm and I can most likely intern there over the summer. Is private equity a good summer experience that will help with my investment banking career goal?

Thanks everyone, I'm new to this recruiting process and lack a mentor.

Any help would be appreciated,

Chin
