Introduction and looking for some advice

Hey everyone, so I'll try and not make this too lengthy but here it goes.

To start off, a little background on myself. I'm 26, graduating in December with a BS in Econ from University of Missouri and unfortunately with a piss poor gpa ~2.2. I never graduated high school (received GED) and got kicked out of college at one point, hence the being 26 and just now graduating. My father is an independent financial advisor who I've worked for mostly doing administrative things over the past 3-4 years, and he's pretty much my only connection to the financial industry. Additionally because of my low gpa I plan on attempting the CFA L1 exam in December so that it might help my resume. That pretty much covers me but if you're interested in anything else let me know.

And here's where I find myself now. For a long time, at least the past few years in school I've decided that I want to work my way through a career to hopefully someday become a portfolio manager. It seems like the best start out of college is to try and get a job as an analyst and move on from there. I realize that with my gpa I cant be choosy and will be lucky to find a job a job at all but I'm willing to go just about anywhere and do whatever it takes. However, over the past few weeks the reality of my situation and the fast approaching date of my graduation has become extremely stressful. I don't have a strong network of people that can help me find a job (most of my friends work in other industries), I don't have a very good resume at all, and I'm feeling more lost the more I think about it. The only thing I do feel good about is that I'm not going to let any of this stop me and not going to give up.

So basically I'm wondering what should I be doing? Like where should my focus be, how should I start networking, what things can I still do that will help me get a job. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
