Looking to Get Into PE or IB - Experienced Consultant in Ops & Sales/Dist in Multiple Industries - Eng Background

I'm transitioning out of consulting (I currently work for a large, top-tier firm) and into Private Equity or Investment Banking. I have been involved in five large scale enterprise transformation projects, worked on the integration side of three mergers/acquisitions (lessons learned can be applied in the M&A space), worked in high tech, energy, and bio-tech, and have participated in initial funding/project finance capital raises. My background is in engineering, I have deep experience in operations, sales, and distribution, and a strong understanding and passion for business development and market dynamics.

I seem to be on a path that has been traveled before, any suggestions from others on how to break into the industry?
