Need Assistance
Hi all,
I am studying economics with a minor in business administration, and I am developing a strong passion for finance. While I have done as much learning as I can outside the classroom, and through my own investing in an IRA, I am fairly new to most S&T and Investment Banking topics.
Does anyone have any suggestions on where to find resources on learning S&T basics. Thanks for your input, and I recommend any advice for someone who is a rookie but eager to learn as much as possible.
Thanks.
Welcome! Glad you are eager to learn!
Not to sound rude, but up in the top right corner, you can use the search tool. Or just dive right in to the forums and read anything that sounds interesting. There's a ton of webinars and videos as well that are right on the homepage that should be able to help you as well.
If there's a specific topic in general that you would like to learn about then that would help in your responses of getting actual help. But questions like this are asked all the time and the answers are already on the website.
First, if you are saying S&T and IBD, you need to understand how different they are. Read the Vault guide as a start. There are many guides but I think the three that are usually recommended are: Vault Guide to Finance Interviews Vault Career Guide to Sales and Trading Vault Career Guide to Investment Banking
I feel like if I met you, my first question to you would be: "Do you know what [S&T]/[IBD] does?"
And I'd look up some interview prep materials. Gives you a good idea of what you're getting into, what's to be expected.
And good for you for reaching out. Most people don't realize that while school is great, you really need to be motivated to learn what you need outside the classroom.
