New guy over here!

Hi to everyone, this is my first post here.

I am from Greece and studing business andministration with finance specialization in a Greek business school.

I have a 3.85 GPA and I am first in my department for 2 consequent years.

My short term focus is to build a strong resume in order to be accepted in a top master in finance in US. After that I want to break in investment banking in US.

In this year I am planning to take toefl and gmat.

Also I am going to present two papers in a conference in November and lead of my universitie's finance club.

As I dont have any working experience until now this is my first priority.

I am looking forward for any advice you have for me and feel free to ask me anything you want to know about the situation in Greece.

Welcome to The Show, Bolty. In case you didn't know, a lot of similar advice has been given before in the forums section of the web site. If you search through it with a few good keywords you should be able to get a lot of information.

I'm not a finance guy (consulting), and I may be wrong, but why a masters in finance? A top-flight MBA should get you to where you need to be. Also, you're doing the right things out of the classroom, now you just need some experience - internships seem to be a good fit for someone in your situation. The boards can give you a little more information on how to go about researching/applying for them.

Good luck.

@egsc Thanks for your comment. I think that as I am studing now business administration in a Greek university (=totaly non-target outside Greece), and I want to pusue a career in investment banking, an MFin in a top US university would be better choice. Also for a top-flight MBA I need good working experience, and I will never have such experience with a degree from a Greek BS.
