Prospective Monkey Looking for Advice
I am currently a Sr in Hs, and I know that is very young to be looking at future jobs. I am more of a browser trying to figure out what I want to do for the next 40 years of my life after college. I will be heading to a top 30 liberal arts school next year (Bucknell/Colgate/Lehigh). I was wondering if anyone knows much about the recruiting for Ib, Pe, S&T summer internships from a school like this.
Another question, I have discovered that where you go to college plays a big role in future IB jobs. Do you guys think I should do my best at my current school and possibly try transferring to a school like (Gtown, Cornell, Uva)?
Thanks Guys
You have plenty of time to figure out the next 40 years!
That being said, if you're really set on pursuing a career in banking and/or capital markets then I would highly recommend that you consider transferring to a school that has a reputable business program.
The schools you mentioned are all solid choices. If you're looking for target schools (east coast) that don't fall under the "prestigious" characterization (i.e., HPY), then I would expand that list to include: Maryland, North Carolina Chapel Hill and Duke.
@devoutCapitalist I know it is really early for me to be focusing on this, haha. I appreciate your help with adding schools for me to consider. Do schools like Maryland and UNC have good placement rates for SA and BB IB analyst positions?
Absolutely, yes. I have seen plenty of analysts and associates who came from both of those schools. Not everyone can afford to attend private schools. Plenty of quality candidates at big state schools like UNC, UVA, and MD.
